Victorian House - Kitchen Progress

The last room in the Victorian House to be remodeled is the kitchen.  It is still under construction, but I thought I'd share a progress report.  This room is the product of much planning, drawing and dreaming.  In fact, there were as many technical drawings of this room as we usually do for an entire house!  All of the cabinetry was made in our shop.  Instead of building cabinet boxes the cabinets were built a wall at a time in order to give the feeling of being true built in cabinets.  The construction is solid Quartersawn Oak throughout each cabinet.  They all feature roll outs (also in Quartersawn Oak) as well as soft close hardware on all doors and drawers.  The gorgeous range hood is from Vent-a-Hood and was ordered through our favorite local kitchen & bath shop, Scholten Kitchen & Bath.  Scholten was also the supplier of the Northland refrigerator.  All other appliances are GE Monogram and were ordered through George's Appliance in Kalamazoo.  We were pleased to be able to accommodate our clients' wish to use the kitchen throughout the project.  The old cabinets were demolished one wall at a time in order to be replaced with the new cabinets the same day, so our client could fill them up!  As soon as the appliances were installed our happy homeowner began baking daily as the construction progressed all around.  It is important to us that our clients feel at home in their own homes during our projects.
